Declaration of Intent for Pi Kappa Pi
We, the undersigned, do hereby establish Pi
Kappa Pi as a Christian fraternity, striving as a unit to
contribute to the betterment of Lee College and its students.
Our purpose is to provide an avenue of social service dedicated
to projecting the role model of Jesus Christ as a
servant-leader. Our philosophy is built upon
the foundation of Christian brotherhood. Through this
organization we unceasingly strive toward a Christological goal
of the unity of the student body. We believe that this unity
will be aided by our fraternity, whose foundation is evident in
its Greek symbols: Pi, Kappa, Pi. Our symbols provide the
cornerstones of our organization, for we stand united in faith,
fellowship, and spirit. We believe in all
persons being equally considered for membership, and adamantly
oppose any pretenses of popularity, ancestry, or outward
appearance as being conditional to membership. We maintain that
each of our members be a viable part of the organization, vital
in its functionality. In the words of John Donne's Meditation
17: "No Man is an island, entire unto itself. Every man is a
piece of the continent, a part of the main...Any man's death
diminishes (us), for (we are) involved in mankind."
